Head of Client Experience & Channel Strategy
Tim Houghton is Head of Client Experience & Channel Strategy for RBC Wealth Management’s international segment. In this capacity, he has overall responsibility for the development and execution of a number of key client experience initiatives along with responsibility for the development and execution of the channel strategy, maximising the effectiveness of the principal channels we use to secure new clients. He previously had responsibility for business development across RBC’s offices in the British Isles and the international cross border teams in the US and Canada.
Mr. Houghton joined RBC in 1999 as a Manager within the Jersey banking team. In 2009, he was promoted to Head of the Emerging High Net Worth (“EHNW”) team, a role in which he led a team of relationship managers in the British Isles focused on servicing EHNW clients and exploring new business opportunities in this segment. Mr. Houghton was appointed Head of Private Client Wealth Management, Offshore in 2011, with overall responsibility for a team of wealth managers operating from Jersey and Dubai, along with oversight of the banking platform in the British Isles.
Before joining RBC, Mr. Houghton was a Client Service Manager at Standard Chartered where he managed a portfolio of international high net worth clients. Prior to this, he worked for Barclays in various roles.
Mr. Houghton is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Chartered Management Institute.
Outside of work Mr. Houghton enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He also enjoys playing golf and walking his dog Archie on the beaches in Jersey.
