RBC’s first ever Running Weekend on the 7th and 8th October saw over 4,000 people run the RBC Race for the Kids on Saturday and more than 16,000 take on the scenic 13.1 mile course of the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday. The video below celebrates our support of these two extraordinary events.
RBC Race for the Kids returned to London for the eight time with over 4,000 runners taking on a spectacular Hyde Park on the Saturday in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Over 1,600 Team RBC runners raised an incredible £300,000 this year, which brings the total RBC contribution to £2.5 million of funds raised, all of which will go towards the Royal Bank of Canada Neuroscience Unit opening early 2018. This brand-new facility will treat children with some of the most severe and specialist neurological cases, such as epilepsy or brain tumours.
In 2017, RBC became the Presenting Partner of the Royal Parks Half Marathon and sponsor of the corporate race challenge ‘Royal Bank of Canada Corporate 13.1’. Over 300 Team RBC’ers ran the 13.1 course on Sunday, including over 120 clients and charity partners, contributing an amazing £150,000 to 37 charities. Runners followed a stunning route through the closed streets of central London, and four of London’s eight amazing Royal Parks, making it one of the most iconic and scenic half marathons in any city in the world.
In total over 20,000 participants over the two days raised more than £5.5million for over 530 charitable causes.
