Brett Thorne is head of RBC Correspondent Services and RBC Advisor Services (CAS).  CAS is one of the country’s leading clearing firms for broker-dealers and custodian boutiques for registered investment advisors.  Mr. Thorne is responsible for the growth and delivery of products, services and advice to retain and attract independent broker dealers and registered investment advisory firms. He is also a member of RBC Wealth Management’s – U.S. Operating Committee and RBC Capital Markets, LLC Board of Directors.

Mr. Thorne began his career in the industry in 1988 with PricewaterhouseCoopers and joined the firm in 1994. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Operating Officer for CAS where he oversaw administrative functions, operational controls and managed business risk.  He was also responsible for business initiatives implementation, and worked closely with Global Wealth Services, Operations, Compliance and Legal within RBC Wealth Management on matters influencing CAS.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, and master’s degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas. He completed the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
