High living costs, limited childcare options and specialised support for children with additional needs can make parenting more complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet with the right support, every child can reach their full potential. That\u2019s where organisations like <a href=\"https:\/\/jcct.org.je\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jersey Child Care Trust <\/a> (JCCT) play a vital role \u2013 working alongside families to build stronger foundations for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-helping-children-when-it-matters-most\">Helping children when it matters most<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of JCCT\u2019s mission is a simple yet powerful idea: every child in Jersey deserves the best possible start in life. By promoting inclusion and creating opportunities for families, the charity is making a meaningful difference in communities across the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From helping children with disabilities access nurseries and supporting those who live in poverty, to training hundreds of childcare practitioners each year, JCCT is a lifeline for many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, JCCT and RBC Wealth Management in Europe are partnering to support these vital programmes and bring the much-loved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcraceforthekidsjersey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RBC Race for the Kids Jersey <\/a> back to the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-vision-for-the-future-the-early-years-centre-of-excellence\">A vision for the future: The Early Years Centre of Excellence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine a place where children of all backgrounds and abilities have access to high-quality early education. A place where parents can find the support they need under one roof, and where early-years professionals are trained to deliver exceptional care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the vision behind JCCT\u2019s&nbsp;Early Years Centre of Excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEighty percent of our brain development occurs by the age of three,\u201d explains Fiona Vacher, CEO of JCCT. \u201cEarly years are critical for a child\u2019s development, and the Centre of Excellence will not only provide outstanding care and education but also serve as a hub for families and professionals to come together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"768\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rbcwealthmanagement.com\/en-eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/08\/children-at-nursery-school-inline.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Five young children are playing with toys in a nursery centre. It will offer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High-quality childcare for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A training academy to develop the skills of early-years professionals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrated family support, bringing together health, education and social services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through philanthropy, public interest and private support, the Centre of Excellence aims to create a sustainable model that reinvests in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-power-of-partnership\">The power of partnership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognising the importance of JCCT\u2019s work, RBC Wealth Management in Europe has partnered with the charity to help bring its vision to life. A cornerstone of this collaboration is the relaunch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcraceforthekidsjersey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RBC&nbsp;Race for the Kids Jersey <\/a>, a family-friendly fun run that will form part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/supertri.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Supertri <\/a> triathlon event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of the run is to unite the island\u2019s communities while raising essential funds for JCCT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to relaunch RBC Race for the Kids Jersey in partnership with JCCT,\u201d says David Bailey, chief operating officer of RBC Wealth Management in Europe. \u201cAt RBC, we\u2019re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcwealthmanagement.com\/en-eu\/about\/community\">helping to create positive social impact<\/a> in the communities where we live and work. JCCT\u2019s mission aligns perfectly with our values, and we\u2019re proud to support their efforts to create happier, healthier children and families in Jersey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-rbc-race-for-the-kids-a-run-for-all\">RBC Race for the Kids: A run for all<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>RBC Race for the Kids Jersey, which takes place on 21 Sept.,&nbsp;promises to be a day of celebration, connection and community spirit. Participants can choose from a 2.5km, 5km or brand-new 10km distance \u2013 whether running, walking or wheeling, there\u2019s an activity for people of all abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This inclusive event is part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcraceforthekids.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RBC\u2019s global initiative <\/a>, which has engaged over 470,000 participants worldwide and raised more than \u00a350 million for youth-focused charities since its launch in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it\u2019s more than just a run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For families like Maggie\u2019s, whose son Ross has disabilities, the support from JCCT through its Special Needs Inclusion Programme has been life changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEvery day was a relief when the Jersey Child Care Trust stepped in and offered support for Ross,&#8221; says Maggie. &#8220;They have been an amazing help to Ross himself, but also to me and our family. They have reassured me on the worst days, and we\u2019ve celebrated together on the good days with his development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year alone, JCCT directly supported more than 200 families. From enabling children with additional needs to thrive in nurturing environments to empowering parents to return to work, the charity\u2019s impact is profound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re deeply honoured that the Jersey Child Care Trust has been chosen as the beneficiary of the RBC Race for the Kids Jersey,\u201d says Vacher. \u201cEvents like these not only raise vital funds but also bring people together to show that we are a community that cares.
