Kim Mickelson to lead retirement and fund solutions at RBC Wealth Management-U.S.

MINNEAPOLIS (June 13, 2016) – Former Blackrock Director Kim Mickelson has joined RBC Wealth Management-U.S. as head of the firm’s retirement and fund solutions group. In that role she will oversee product management teams covering mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds, 529s, annuities, IRAs and other individual and institutional retirement solutions.

At Blackrock, Mickelson served as a director in the U.S. Wealth Advisory Group, working with wholesalers, national account managers and wirehouse executives on incorporating Blackrock’s value-add programs, fund and ETF capabilities into their strategy. Mickelson was also a national speaker for Blackrock on topics such as Retirement Planning, Social Security Strategies and Women and Wealth. Prior to Blackrock, she worked at Ameriprise Financial as vice president of financial planning and product management.

In addition to her experience with funds, Mickelson held previous roles with responsibility for annuity product marketing and management. She started her career as a financial advisor. Mickelson holds a Bachelor’s in management from the College of St. Benedict and is pursuing a Masters in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
