Oscar Kalman\u2014an enterprising and insightful individual\u2014founded a small brokerage firm in St. Paul, Minnesota. This firm formed the nucleus of a company that would one day become one of the largest security firms in the nation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div data-tab-id=\"2\" class=\"rbc-tab-expandable-content rbc-tab-content\" id=\"timeline2\" aria-labelledby=\"timeline2-tab\" role=\"tabpanel\" tabindex=\"-1\"><div class=\"rbc-tab-content-body\"><div class=\"rbc-card\"><div class=\"rbc-card-wrap\"><div class=\"rbc-card-body\"><div data-tab-id=\"2\" class=\"\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1909 to 1929 \u2013 we&#8217;ll be together later<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Other firms destined to be part of RBC Wealth Management also formed: Bosworth, Chanute, Loughridge &amp; Co. in Denver; J.M. Dain &amp; Co. in Minneapolis; J.E. Refsnes &amp; Co. in Phoenix; and Rauscher, Pierce &amp; Co. in Dallas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div data-tab-id=\"3\" class=\"rbc-tab-expandable-content rbc-tab-content\" id=\"timeline3\" aria-labelledby=\"timeline3-tab\" role=\"tabpanel\" tabindex=\"-1\"><div class=\"rbc-tab-content-body\"><div class=\"rbc-card\"><div class=\"rbc-card-wrap\"><div class=\"rbc-card-body\"><div data-tab-id=\"3\" class=\"\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1929 to 1967<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1929 \u2013 a pivotal start<\/strong><br>The U.S. affiliate of Canada\u2019s Dominion Securities (later part of RBC Wealth Management), was incorporated in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1967 \u2013 mergers begin<\/strong><br>J.M. Dain &amp; Co. merges with Kalman\u2019s firm. Shortly after, the merged firm purchases Quail &amp; Co. The new organization becomes Dain, Kalman &amp; Quail, Inc.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div data-tab-id=\"4\" class=\"rbc-tab-expandable-content rbc-tab-content\" id=\"timeline4\" aria-labelledby=\"timeline4-tab\" role=\"tabpanel\" tabindex=\"-1\"><div class=\"rbc-tab-content-body\"><div class=\"rbc-card\"><div class=\"rbc-card-wrap\"><div class=\"rbc-card-body\"><div data-tab-id=\"4\" class=\"\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1973 to 1981 \u2013 stronger together<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After further mergers, two dominant firms emerged: Dain Bosworth (midwest and northwest) and Rauscher Pierce Refsnes (southwest).
