But at RBC Wealth Management\u2013U.S., employees have pride year-round, thanks to the firm\u2019s active and growing PRIDE (Proud RBC Individuals for Diversity and Equality) employee resource group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PRIDE is one of the largest\u2014and most active\u2014ERGs at the firm, with more than 330 members. The group was formed in 1999 and works to foster a culture of inclusion by providing support and a sense of community to LGBTQ+ and allied employees. PRIDE also provides education on LGBTQ+ issues and helps attract and retain top LGBTQ+ and allied talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPRIDE supports employee engagement and retention, and helps to heighten awareness around strides and\/or issues within the LGBTQ+ community,\u201d says Wally Chapman, regional director for RBC Wealth Management\u2013U.S. and the executive sponsor of PRIDE. \u201cThe group has helped the firm have a positive impact on our clients, our employees and the communities we serve.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-at-work-and-in-the-community\">At work and in the community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>PRIDE\u2019s efforts to make RBC Wealth Management an inclusive environment for all employees is getting noticed. In 2022, the Human Rights Campaign\u2019s Corporate Equality Index named the firm as a \u201cBest Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality,\u201d the 13th time RBC Wealth Management has received the recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat shows we\u2019re inclusive, welcoming, and respectful of all people,\u201d says Richard Beckel, co-chair of the PRIDE group and a senior manager of Practice Management at RBC Wealth Management\u2013U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Ellen Krider, an ally and a financial advisor in RBC Wealth Management\u2019s Fort Lauderdale office, that inclusivity was one of the main reasons she joined the firm in 2009. Krider has cared about helping the LGBTQ+ community since her best friend from childhood came out as gay when she was 21. Across the country, members have volunteered with or served on boards of a wide range of LGBTQ+ nonprofits and organizations. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through all of those efforts\u2014whether in the workplace or in the community\u2014RBC Wealth Management\u2013U.S. and PRIDE have made a concerted effort to make a difference for the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the message we want this group to send,\u201d Beckel says. \u201cWe\u2019re saying, \u2018We\u2019re here for you.
