RBC Wealth Management - International
Ashif Ratanshi is the CEO of RBC’s international wealth management business, which provides wealth management solutions to high net worth and select corporate and institutional clients. He is responsible for RBC Wealth Management’s offices in the British Isles (London, Edinburgh, Jersey and Guernsey) and Asia (Hong Kong and Singapore), as well as teams of specialists operating in North America.
Based in London, Ratanshi is a member of the RBC Global Wealth Management & Insurance Operating Committee and the RBC European Executive Committee.
Ratanshi first joined RBC in 1986 and held a number of roles within the company before moving to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1999 to become president and CEO of Security First Network Bank. He returned to RBC in 2002 as managing director of RBC Dominion Securities and in 2007 was appointed senior vice president, Personal Deposits & Investments, of RBC’s personal and commercial banking business in Canada. In this role, he was responsible for the Personal Banking Accounts; Savings & GICs; Direct Investing; and Mutual Funds Distribution businesses — including Financial Planning and Retirement strategies. Ratanshi was also instrumental in launching RBC’s "direct investing" and RBC's “robo-advice” businesses in Canada.
Previously, Ratanshi served on the Canadian Banking Diversity Leadership Council, was executive champion for MOSAIC – an employee resource group focused on diversity and inclusion of visible minorities and newcomers to Canada – and served on the Board of Royal Trust Corporation, Royal Trust Company, Royal Bank Mortgage Corporation, Royal Mutual Funds Inc., and was chair of the board for RBC Direct Investing. He also served on the board of Fulbright - an Educational exchange between Canada and the United States of America.
Ratanshi holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from City University in Bellevue, Washington, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a joint major in Economics, from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
