Bringing over 20 years of experience in brokerage, private banking and investment banking, Joel Goh joined RBC from Julius Baer where he was market manager for China, and prior to that he was the market director for Taiwan and China at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Goh started his career in Paribas Capital Markets, Banque Paribas in 1993, covering Equity Derivatives Sales and Trading.
He relocated to Hong Kong in 1996, where he joined Credit Suisse First Boston, focusing on the sales and trading of structured products, warrants, convertible bonds and OTC products. In 1999, Goh joined Merrill Lynch as senior financial advisor, and after 11 successful years as a producer he was promoted to market director in 2010. Here he was responsible for the P&L of the China and Taiwan markets, and managed the largest team of financial advisors at Merrill Lynch’s Asia Pacific operations. Goh also played an important role in the integration of Julius Baer and Merrill Lynch’s International Wealth Management business in 2013, giving him extensive insights and experience in both the brokerage and private banking businesses.
Goh graduated in 1991 from the University of Kansas (USA) with a double degree - Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Business. He later obtained his MBA degree from the The University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business in 1993.
