Thomas Garretson has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and joined RBC Wealth Management in 2013. He currently chairs the firm’s U.S. fixed income subcommittee and is a member of the Global Portfolio Advisory Committee and the U.S. Investment Committee. Garretson collaborates with other members in setting firm-wide asset allocation recommendations.

Garretson holds an MBA degree with a concentration in finance from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Denver.

Prior to business school, Garretson worked as an associate with SHR Capital Partners, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based private equity firm, where he evaluated investment opportunities in the advertising and consumer services industries. He obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute and has passed the FINRA General Securities Representative Series 7 exam.
