Mike Reed is head of Wealth Management, Southeast Asia and chief executive, RBC Singapore Branch.

Based in Singapore, Reed also heads RBC Wealth Management Asia’s Client and Business Development, and the Hong Kong Trust Company.

In his 18-year tenure with Royal Bank of Canada, Reed held leadership roles in Canada, the U.S. and the British Isles. Prior to Asia, he was head of Multi-Family Offices, Wealth Management International in London, responsible for Family Offices and ultra-high-net-worth clients globally,  including those from the Middle East, the European region, Americas and Global South and East Asia regions.

Reed started his career in the Canadian financial services industry working for an investment solution provider. He worked as a private client advisor before moving to RBC to join the Financial Advisory Solutions and Wealth Management Services Team. He was also head of Affluent and Retirement Client Strategy. In his role as managing director, he was responsible for integrating and running RBC Trust Company (Delaware) Limited, a newly acquired international fiduciary solutions provider based in the United States. He also acted as a director on the American Gift Fund, a U.S. based 501(c)3 registered charity.

Reed holds an Honours degree in Economics from Queen’s University and completed his MBA through the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in Chicago and the Schulich School of Business at York University. From 2003 to 2006, he acted on the panel of examiners for the Financial Planning Standards Council, a non-governmental self-regulatory body.

He holds various professional accreditations such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM).

He is licensed with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong.
