SEATTLE (September 13, 2016) – RBC Wealth Management-U.S., one of the nation’s largest full-service securities firms, today named David Moskovitz director of its Seattle complex. He will succeed Mike Nielsen, who will retire on October 31.
“I want to thank Mike for his strong leadership over his more than 13 years here at RBC Wealth Management,” said Darryl Traweek, director of the firm’s West division, under which Seattle falls. “During that time, Mike built a strong legacy of care for his financial advisors and his clients. I am confident that David will continue that legacy.”
As the new Seattle complex director, Moskovitz will oversee 75 advisors at five branches in the market. Moskovitz joined RBC Wealth Management-U.S. in 2005 as a financial advisor after spending time at D.A. Davidson and UBS (Paine Webber). He began his career in 1997 at Piper Jaffray. In 2013, Moskovitz was named assistant branch director of RBC Wealth Management’s Seattle branch and has been been recognized by the firm for his outstanding performance and professional growth.
“First as a very successful advisor and then as a branch director, David has proven he has the skills and talent to lead this complex into a new era of growth and success,” Nielsen said. “He’s energetic, charismatic and cares deeply about helping people. I can think of few people who represent the values and culture of RBC Wealth Management as well as David.”
Moskovitz attended the University of Washington where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He and his wife are active supporters of the Humane Society and are involved in the fight against Duchene Muscular Dystrophy by contributing to Charley's Fund and Seattle's Children's Hospital. Moskovitz was also a long-term volunteer to the Big Brother, Big Sister program in Seattle, where he has maintained a Big Brother life mentor role with an individual for the past eleven years. He is also a board member and treasurer of Operation Freedom Dream whose cause is to provide housing for transitioning and homeless veterans.
