BOSTON, Massachusetts (October 27, 2016) – RBC Wealth Management-U.S., one of the nation’s largest full-service securities firms, today named Brian Katz as managing director - director of its Boston complex. In his new role, Katz will oversee 7 branches and more than 50 financial advisors.
Katz brings more than 30 years of financial industry experience to RBC. For 28 of those years, he worked in senior leadership at Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms; for 24 of those years, Katz worked directly in Boston and the greater New England area. He spent 12 years working as a managing director and regional director at both Smith Barney and subsequently Morgan Stanley, leading significant portions of their wealth management businesses.
Most recently, Katz was a divisional vice president, branch development for Ameriprise Financial, Inc. In that role, Katz directed all experienced advisor recruiting for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Katz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin.
