Brett is head of RBC Clearing & Custody, one of the country’s leading clearing firms for broker-dealers and custodian boutiques for registered investment advisors. Brett is responsible for the growth and delivery of products, services and advice to retain and attract independent broker-dealers and registered investment advisory firms. He is also a member of the RBC Wealth Management – U.S. Executive Committee and the RBC Capital Markets, LLC board of directors.

Brett began his career in the industry in 1988 with PricewaterhouseCoopers and joined RBC in 1994. Prior to his current role, he was the chief operating officer for Clearing & Custody, where he oversaw administrative functions, operational controls and managed business risk. He was also responsible for business initiatives implementation, and worked closely with Global Wealth Services, Operations, Compliance and Legal within RBC Wealth Management on matters influencing Clearing & Custody.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, and master’s degree in finance from the University of St. Thomas. Brett completed the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
