Hong Kong, December 6, 2021 — RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), has today announced two senior leadership appointments in Asia.

Ignatius (Iggy) K.K. Chong, previously Head of Private Banking, Greater China for the firm, has been appointed Head of Enterprise Private Clients, Asia. In this newly created role, Iggy is responsible for coverage of ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients’ complex financial needs across regional geographies and products. RBC Wealth Management refers to this client segment as Asia’s global families, as many have international ties with Canada, the US or the British Isles as a result of business interests, employment, property or education.

“Iggy will lead initiatives with RBC’s most wealthy client families in Asia, ensuring that we understand their goals, values and aspirations,” said Terence Chow, Head of RBC Wealth Management in Asia. “He will work closely with global colleagues to serve this important client base by delivering the best that RBC can offer, including our global reach, financial stability and full suite of solutions to build, protect and transition their wealth through the generations.”

Separately, Nick Chan has joined RBC Wealth Management as Head of Private Banking, North Asia, to lead the Bank’s business and strategy in the region.

Nick brings over two decades of wealth management experience across Asia and was most recently Deputy CEO and Head of Family Office Asia Pacific at StormHarbour Securities LLP. Previously, Nick spent 14 years at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management (PWM) in Hong Kong and Singapore, in roles including Head of Southeast Asia PWM and Co-Head of PWM Sales Management Asia Pacific. Before that, Nick was a senior producer for the UHNW segment at Goldman Sachs in Asia.

Terence Chow added, “I am delighted to welcome Nick to RBC. His breadth of experience and extensive connectivity across the region, combined with his leadership skills and client focus, will further fuel momentum towards our growth goals and bring increasing value to Asia’s global families.”

Both Iggy and Nick are based in Hong Kong, reporting to Terence Chow, with roles effective from 1 December.

To support RBC’s growing client base and the Bank’s ambitions in the region, three new private bankers – Franky Lee, Elroy Wong and Ellen Choi – have also joined its wealth management division in Hong Kong in recent weeks. Franky previously worked with Bank of Singapore, Elroy joined from LGT (HK) and Ellen from EFG Bank AG.
