Our relationship with the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust stretches back to 2009 when the conservation charity became the first beneficiary of a RBC Blue Water Project grant in the British Isles. This is the 10th year of the RBC Blue Water Project, a wide-ranging, global commitment to help protect the world’s fresh water resources. The donation of this year’s Chelsea garden will help to develop the trust’s own boreal habitat and draw visitors from across the UK.

This year’s Royal Bank of Canada Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower show marks the seventh consecutive year that RBC has sponsored a winning garden at this prestigious event. The award follows two gold medals and four silver-gilt medals in previous years.

Designed by Charlotte Harris in her first year as lead designer at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the garden was inspired by the Canadian boreal forest. Having previously worked on a number of Main Avenue gardens, including Luciano Giubbilei’s Best in Show garden of 2014 and Hugo Bugg’s Royal Bank of Canada Garden in 2016, Charlotte assembled a strong female design team for this year’s garden including the architect, technical detailer and horticulturists.
