As a co-head of the RBC Wealth Management–U.S. Private Client Group (GCG), Pat Vaughan oversees day-to-day PCG operations and leads more than 2,000 financial advisors across 43 states.
Pat works closely with his management team to make sure they’re available to advisors at every turn and instills the TEAM concept—Together Everyone Achieves More—as a motto for success.
In 1981, Pat immigrated to the United States from Dublin, Ireland. He began his wealth management career in 1984 at Kidder Peabody as a financial advisor and became a sales manager of their Baltimore office. Pat joined Ferris, Baker Watts in 1990, where he held numerous roles, including branch manager of the Baltimore office, regional sales manager and director of sales. In 2008, when Ferris, Baker Watts joined RBC Wealth Management, Pat was Head of the Private Client Group. Pat served as RBC Wealth Management’s East divisional director until he was named co-head of the Private Client Group in 2026.
Pat attended Trinity College in Dublin and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration and a higher diploma in education.
He’s the executive sponsor of the RBC Veterans Engagement and Troop Support (VETS) employee resource group, and supports many veteran’s causes, in particular the Paws for Vets organization. In addition, he’s active with the Caroline Center of Baltimore, which empowers women to reach their full potential by helping unemployed women find jobs with advancement opportunities. He is a strong supporter of local charities including the MD Food Bank and the Baltimore Hunger Project.
In his spare time, Pat enjoys exercising, reading, traveling and coaching various youth sports teams through the local recreation council. He lives in the Baltimore area and has four adult children.
