MINNEAPOLIS (November 3, 2014) – RBC Wealth Management-U.S. is offering clients a unique way to gain exposure to the equities market with a new private-label Unit Investment Trust (UIT).

The new UIT gives smaller and transaction-based investors access to a diversified portfolio of income-generating stocks with a single purchase.

“Investors today are increasingly interested in building portfolios that generate income, particularly in this low-interest rate environment,” said Matt Boardman, Head of Fixed Income for RBC Wealth Management-U.S. “At the same time, they are seeking diversity with exposure to the equities market.”

This is the third UIT from RBC Wealth Management-U.S. designed around an equity strategy. The first, launched in May, was well received and attracted a significant amount of client assets. The equity strategies adopted by each of the UITs were devised by RBC Wealth Management’s Portfolio Advisory Group, a team of highly specialized equity and fixed-income portfolio strategists that conducts ongoing research and analysis on a wide spectrum of investment opportunities.

“By combining the expertise and strategic insight of our Portfolio Advisory Group with the underwriting capabilities of our fixed income trading team, we are able to offer clients a unique investment opportunity,” Boardman said. “The interest from clients in the products born out of this new partnership has been strong.”

The UIT is available only to clients of RBC Wealth Management-U.S. and to clients of RBC Correspondent and Advisor Services.
