SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2015) – RBC Wealth Management, one of the nation’s largest full-service securities firms, recently welcomed Michael Schipper as Senior Managing Director – Complex Director of the firm’s San Francisco complex, according to Darryl Traweek, Director of RBC Wealth Management’s West/South division.
With more than 25 years in the financial services industry, Schipper brings a vast amount of experience to the position. He joins RBC Wealth Management from Raymond James, where he was part of a team responsible for building out the West Coast presence. Prior to that, Schipper was at Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for helping to merge the Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney cultures in the San Francisco area following that joint venture.
“We are thrilled to welcome Michael to RBC Wealth Management,” said Traweek. “His knowledge of the San Francisco area, coupled with his leadership ability and strong focus on recruiting, certainly make him an important asset as we look to continue to grow in Northern California.”
Schipper will oversee approximately 70 financial advisors and 125 total employees serving clients in seven branches including: San Francisco, San Jose, Fresno, Monterey, El Dorado Hills, Walnut Creek, and Oakland.
RBC recently closed its acquisition of California-based City National Bank in November 2015, which creates a powerful platform for long-term growth in California and the U.S. The combination of the two organizations strengthens each entity and provides a unique opportunity for financial advisors to leverage the capabilities of each to better serve clients.
In the United States, RBC Wealth Management operates as a division of RBC Capital Markets, LLC. Founded in 1909, RBC Capital Markets, LLC. is a member of the New York Stock Exchange, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation, and other major securities exchanges. RBC Wealth Management has $273 billion in total client assets with 1,900 financial advisors operating in 200 locations in 41 states.
