Ann Senne, 20-year-veteran of RBC, returns to firm to lead new division

MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 3, 2016) – RBC Wealth Management-U.S. announced today that Ann Senne will return to the firm as the head of the newly created Advice and Solutions Group effective Monday, November 7.

Senne, who previously served as senior vice president and head of wealth management product for U.S. Bank, returns to RBC where she spent more than 20 years of her career.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ann back to RBC Wealth Management,” said Michael Armstrong, CEO of RBC Wealth Management-U.S. “In this newly created role, she will be instrumental in strengthening our advisory and planning platforms, which will be strategic drivers of growth for the firm and key initiatives in response to the U.S. Department of Labor’s fiduciary rule. I know her energy and passion for the business will help propel our strategy forward and ensure we are providing our clients and our advisors with the services and resources they need to be successful.”

During her 20-year tenure at RBC, Senne served in many roles, most recently as head of global client experience, leading the development and delivery of a client experience strategy for RBC Wealth Management. She also managed the teams responsible for the mutual fund and retirement solutions in the U.S. as well as the company’s North American fee-based programs.

“Under the leadership of Michael Armstrong and Tom Sagissor, RBC Wealth Management is poised to do industry-leading things in the wealth management space,” Senne said. “I am excited about their vision and to re-join the firm in a role that combines into one seamless package key elements that advisors need to truly serve their clients.”

Senne began at RBC Wealth Management in 1994 as an internal auditor and later held several positions managing advisory products. In 2006, she was promoted to director of the firm’s Investment Advisor Group and oversaw significant growth in the U.S. advisory program product area. In 2007, her role expanded to include management of investment manager research, alternative investment and mutual fund platforms. Three years later, she was named head of Global Managed Solutions, where she managed the delivery of a suite of products and services for RBC’s global wealth management businesses (Canada, British Isles, Singapore and the U.S.), including fee-based programs, mutual funds, alternatives, annuities and retirement solutions.

Senne holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin and a MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Minnesota. She earned a CPA designation and completed the Securities Industry Institute at Wharton in 2010.
