MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (June 6, 2018) – RBC Wealth Management, one of the nation’s largest full-service wealth management firms, recently welcomed two new women as branch directors to the firm.

Amy Whittington recently was hired to lead the Houston Galleria branch. Whittington, who has over 20 years of industry experience, most recently was the founder of Optic Financial Solutions, a consulting firm which worked with regional and wirehouse advisors, advisory teams, RIA’s, independent broker dealers and financial companies. Prior to owning her own consulting firm, Whittington held management roles at regional firms where she drove growth and increased advisor production.

Angelica Nelson joins RBC Wealth Management as the Denver Tech branch director. She has 18 years of industry experience and joined from Scottrade / TD Ameritrade where she not only led successful branch offices, but also was an instrumental part of leading change management initiatives for both firms in an elected board position. Her special projects include launching regional and nationwide mentoring and sales coaching programs, building an internal sales and coaching internal website, as well as integration planning and execution. She worked with financial advisors to facilitate growth with new and existing clients, as well as manage, coach, train and educate teams in the branch and region to enrich their asset gathering, leadership and sales skills.

“RBC Wealth Management is committed to attracting more women to the firm. Amy and Angelica are proven leaders who are committed to growing their branches and increasing advisor productivity,” said Kristen Kimmell, Chief of Staff at RBC Wealth Management. “Adding more women to leadership positions is good for the industry, good for our business, but most of all, good for our clients.”

RBC Wealth Management recently launched a digital storytelling initiative that shines a spotlight on the role of financial advisors and what it takes to become part of the industry. The initiative contains documentary-style videos highlighting some of the firm’s most successful women financial advisors and the paths they traveled to get to where they are today.
