MINNEAPOLIS (January 20, 2020) – RBC Wealth Management – U.S., one of the nation’s largest full-service wealth management firms, is proud to announce the 2019 recipients of its annual Community Involvement and Diversity awards. The Community Involvement Award recognizes RBC Wealth Management complex and branch directors who demonstrate leadership in fulfilling RBC’s core purpose of helping clients thrive and communities prosper. The Diversity Award is given to a complex and branch director who took significant and meaningful actions to increase the level of diversity awareness and involvement in their offices over the past year.

“We are thrilled to congratulate these four leaders on this well-deserved honor,” said Tom Sagissor, president of RBC Wealth Management – U.S. “They have each gone above and beyond in their continued work to improve both our firm and the communities they serve.”

Community Involvement Award winners:

  • Andy Teller, Texas Complex Director: Teller has a particular passion for helping veterans and has spearheaded incredibly successful and meaningful activities in support of veterans. Every Veteran’s Day since 2015, Teller has gathered employee volunteers throughout the Texas complex, along with company leaders, to place personal phone calls to all the clients and family members in their region who are veterans or active duty military members. Each person receives a personal call expressing gratitude for their service. Teller is also instrumental in raising funds for Paws4Vets, a nonprofit that provides assistance dogs to veterans. Additionally, Teller’s passion for tennis has led to supporting numerous tennis organizations and events at all levels, bringing the sport of tennis to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity or the exposure.
  • Jackie Larson, Minnetonka, Minnesota Branch Director: Larson was a mentor for the 2019 RBC-sponsored Rock The Street, Wall Street program, where she spent several mornings this fall with a group of high school girls, promoting financial literacy and sparking their interest in finance careers. She served as a role model and provided the girls with valuable insight into what a career in finance might look like. Larson is also very involved with The Link, an organization that works with youth and families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. Additionally, she actively supports Children’s Cancer Research, her church, and local schools.

Diversity Award winners:

  • Dave Moskovitz, Pacific Northwest Complex Director: This past year, Moskovitz put forth significant efforts to recruit and retain diverse talent within his complex. He hosted a highly regarded, industry-wide Women’s Financial Advisor Symposium that was attended by many female advisors from eight different financial firms. Moskovitz also partnered with RBC’s recruiting team to launch a media campaign aimed at attracting more diverse candidates to the firm’s Associate Financial Advisor program. In total, Moskovitz’s hires this year have included three experienced female financial advisors, two female AFAs and a female wealth planning associate. Within the Pacific Northwest complex, approximately 30 percent of the branch directors are women, and women represent 20 percent of the advisors in the complex.
  • John Letourneau, Sarasota, Florida Branch Director: In 2019, Letourneau made a concerted effort to recruit more women into the Sarasota branch, even though the number of women advisors already far outnumbered the men in the branch. Letourneau’s efforts led to a 100 percent increase in the number of female financial advisors in the branch. He also hired a female branch service manager this year. There are 12 total employees in Letourneau’s branch, and 10 are women. Additionally, the Sarasota branch hosted the Women’s Empowerment Forum in 2019, and Letourneau encouraged everyone in the branch to participate and invite women clients.
