RBC financial advisor with spinal cord injury will share his inspiring story, financial tips at event

MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 18, 2020) – RBC Wealth Management–U.S. announced today it will help sponsor the first-ever Reeve Summit 2020: Where Care, Cure and Community Connect from February 26-28, 2020, at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C.

The conference, hosted by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, will bring together hundreds of community members, caregivers, health professionals, key thought leaders and individuals who have had an extraordinary impact on the lives of people with paralysis and related disabilities to foster collaboration, independence, health promotion and innovation.

Among the speakers at the conference will be Vin Crudo, an RBC Wealth Management–U.S. financial advisor who was paralyzed in 2013 after a mountain biking accident.

Crudo, a 30-year veteran of the financial services industry, returned to work with the help of adaptive technologies and the support of his manager and colleagues. Today, he’s on a mission to help others with spinal cord injuries – mentally, emotionally and financially – as they work to recover from their injuries and establish new routines and purpose in their lives.

“These injuries can be so debilitating, and so expensive,” Crudo says. “Depending on the severity of the injury, a survivor could still live a productive life. But while you’re alive, it’s very expensive. I want to raise awareness for people who are hurt and going through that.”

Crudo’s business partner, Adam Morton, an advisor with RBC Wealth Management–U.S. will also be in attendance at the event and able to answer attendees’ financial questions.

“Individuals living with disabilities face additional costs of living. Crudo’s area of expertise and first-hand experience with a spinal cord injury gives him a unique view on the financial challenges associated with navigating life with paralysis,” said Aimee Hunnewell, chief development officer, Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. “We are honored to have him share his story with our guests.”
