MINNEAPOLIS (January 10, 2021) – RBC Wealth Management–U.S. today announced it has promoted Janet Boie to Senior Director of Human Resources. In her role, Boie is responsible for providing strategic advice to the RBC Wealth Management leadership team and supporting the business strategy through design, alignment and execution of HR solutions for more than 5,000 employees in the U.S. Boie’s promotion emphasizes the firm’s commitment to diversity with her appointment to the company’s 11-member Executive Committee, which now includes four women. She is the second woman to be appointed to the committee recently, the most recent being Head of Culture and Field Experience Shareen Luze in July 2021.

“At RBC, we strive to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion through action and that includes ensuring women and people of color are represented at the highest levels of leadership,” said Michael Armstrong, CEO of RBC Wealth Management–U.S. “In the historically male-dominated financial services industry, RBC is proud to be leading the way, ensuring women’s voices are heard.”

Boie’s promotion also bolsters the firm’s commitment to employee wellbeing, with a continued focus on supporting employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Boie was instrumental in prioritizing employee health and safety during the pandemic by serving as a core member of RBC’s global incident management team, developing processes and systems to enable effective information gathering, risk assessment, and contact tracing.

Boie, a 10-year veteran of the firm, served as the director of U.S. human resources shared services for the last three years. In her new role, she is excited about further supporting RBC Wealth Management’s people-centric culture.

Boie said, “I look forward to continuing to help employees grow, creating an environment where they bring their best selves to work, so we in turn, can deliver exceptional experiences for our clients.”

Boie joined RBC Wealth Management in 2011 as senior HR business partner, was promoted to director of HR shared services in 2018, responsible for oversight of employee benefits, payroll and commission operations as well as overseeing the US HR Service Center.
