SEATTLE (November 14, 2023) — RBC Wealth Management has hired industry veteran Colin Hawkes to the role of Pacific Northwest Complex Director, where he will lead 11 branch offices and continue to drive growth in a key region for the firm.
Hawkes spent his 24-year financial services career at UBS, first as a successful financial advisor, then in several leadership roles. During his 17 years in leadership, he served as a branch manager, complex director, and most recently as a market executive working with financial advisors in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana.
“RBC is the best-kept secret in the wealth management industry,” Hawkes said. “Its people, empowered leadership, support, and resources are all reasons why I made the move to RBC Wealth Management. I believe financial advisors and clients will benefit from a firm that provides global capabilities but is also a size that can be nimble and supportive. The future is bright at RBC, and I look forward to continuing its growth.”
“Colin is an excellent addition to RBC Wealth Management, and his leadership experience makes him the perfect choice for the role of Pacific Northwest Complex Director,” said Darryl Traweek, West Divisional Director for RBC Wealth Management – U.S. “I’m very excited to welcome Colin and to work with him as we keep growing in the Pacific Northwest.”
Prior to joining the financial services industry, Hawkes served as a field artillery captain in the United States Army. He is a graduate of Gonzaga University, where he also ran cross country and track. Over the past decade, Colin has volunteered as a Big Brother, coached soccer and track, and led support of local veterans’ organizations. He and his wife live in Woodinville, Washington, with their two daughters.
