As head of Human Resources, Janet Boie provides strategic advice to the RBC Wealth Management–U.S. leadership team and aligns talent strategy to business strategy. Her team guides all aspects of human resources, including talent management, leadership development, performance enablement, diversity and inclusion, workforce management, organizational design, change management and compensation.
Janet focuses on building strong partnerships and finding creative solutions for business problems, while remaining steadfast in her dedication to enhancing the employee experience. She is passionate about driving employee engagement and connecting employees to RBC’s purpose of helping clients thrive and communities prosper.
In 2011, Janet joined RBC Wealth Management–U.S. as a senior human resources business partner. She led the firm through many significant business realignment initiatives, always putting the employee experience at the forefront while achieving strategic goals. Before being named head of Human Resources for the U.S. Wealth Management business, Janet served as director of human resources total rewards delivery for RBC’s businesses in the U.S.
Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, Janet performed independent human resources consulting and worked as a human resources manager at GMAC-RFC.
Janet earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and a master’s degree from St. Mary’s University. With her children, she’s been actively involved in both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and she’s passionate about supporting her community through volunteerism and philanthropy.
When she’s not working, Janet enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. In keeping with her passion for being a lifelong learner, she especially enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
