Tara Ambrose is vice president and senior manager of Client Risk Prevention at RBC Wealth Management–U.S. In this role, she leads the firm’s efforts to safeguard clients from fraud and financial exploitation. This includes a special focus on protecting and supporting senior and vulnerable clients. Tara takes a proactive approach to equip financial advisors and clients with the knowledge needed to help prevent financial abuse and relies on empathy and active listening when interventions are necessary.

Tara has worked at RBC Wealth Management since 2016, and has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. In her current role, Tara responds to referrals regarding client concerns, often overcoming the challenge of convincing clients they have been a victim of a scam when they are reluctant to accept it. She also provides extensive training, coaching and resources to ensure employees are prepared to respond to these difficult situations. Because of her wide-ranging experience, Tara sits on several industry roundtables and is often asked to contribute her expertise to colleagues internally and externally. Tara has passed the Series 7, 66 and 24 exams and has obtained the RBC designation of Advanced Wealth Manager.

Tara earned a bachelor’s degree in individualized studies from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a focus on communication and finance. She is active in her community, serving on the board of directors for the Minnesota Elder Justice Center, as a volunteer and committee member for the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and as a volunteer e-mentor with BestPrep to prepare high school students with business, career and financial literacy.
