Randy Mitchell is vice president and managing director of RBC PH&N Investment Counsel in Eastern Canada. He’s responsible for the firm’s day-to-day investment counselling and business operations in his region, overseeing offices in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax.
He leads a professional team charged with building and managing a high-performance discretionary investment counsel practice to provide an excellent client experience and a high standard of operational effectiveness.
In 1986, Randy started his career in the investment industry. Since then, he’s focused on the discretionary investment management business. Prior to joining RBC PH&N Investment Counsel in 2000, he held progressively senior roles, including vice president and managing director of CT Private Investment Counsel (Canada Trust), and the Atlantic regional investment manager at Montreal Trust.
Randy holds an honors degree in Economics from Dalhousie University and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He serves as a member of the CFA Institute and past president of the Atlantic Canada CFA Society.
Outside of work, Randy’s active in his community and has held various positions within youth sports.
