Conversations with our experts on the topics shaping wealth today
RBC Brewin Dolphin has bolstered its client-facing teams with the appointment of four wealth managers across its London, Cambridge and Cardiff offices. In addition, the company has made two head of office promotions in its Marlborough and Shrewsbury offices.
Joining the London office as wealth managers are Mursal Ali and Tom Kieldsen whilst Neil Trickett joins as a wealth manager in the Cambridge office and Emily Tarrant as a wealth manager in the Cardiff office.
Mursal Ali
Mursal Ali is an experienced wealth manager with over 14 years of experience in wealth management. He specialises in providing investment advice to high-net-worth individuals and families with a focus on nurturing long-term client relationships, built through a deep understanding of their goals and objectives. Prior to joining RBC Brewin Dolphin, Mursal worked at Barclays Private Bank and Barclays Wealth Management where he managed a portfolio of clients from a broad range of sectors, including entrepreneurs, business owners and corporate executives.
Tom Kieldsen
Tom Kieldsen brings almost a decade of financial planning expertise in helping individuals and families to plan, grow and protect their wealth through targeted wealth management strategies. His previous tenures include financial planning roles at UBP and its previous incarnation, SG Kleinwort Hambros as well as at Vanguard and Nutmeg.
Emily Tarrant
Emily Tarrant joins RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Cardiff office as a wealth manager where she will work with private clients, families and business owners to help them achieve their financial planning goals. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with clients and helping them to navigate through different stages of their lives through sound financial planning and advice. Emily started her financial services career over a decade ago, and prior to joining RBC Brewin Dolphin she worked as a financial planner at a partner practice of M&G Wealth Advice and as an investment executive at the Development Bank of Wales.
Neil Trickett
Neil joins RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Cambridge office as a wealth manager. He specialises in providing tax-efficient investment management strategies to private clients and families with varied backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, businessowners, professionals and those with intergenerational family wealth. He also manages corporate and charity clients in Cambridge and East Anglia. Neil returns to RBC Brewin Dolphin after a successful 12-year career there as an investment manager. Prior to joining back, he worked at Cambridge-based firms, NW Brown and Evelyn Partners (formerly Tilney).
In addition, RBC Brewin Dolphin has promoted Simon Bird to head of its Marlborough office following Stephen Depla’s decision to step down as head of office and become a consultant for the company. Simon has been with the company for over 15 years having started his career in the city and spent 11 years in Amsterdam trading options.
Also promoted is Mike Williams who takes up the role of head of the Shrewsbury office following David Hall’s decision to step down as head of office after 15 years to focus on his wealth manager role within the Shrewsbury office. Mike joined RBC Brewin Dolphin as a director in 2019, and has 29 years of industry experience, having previously held roles at Barclays, HSBC and Evelyn Partners (formerly Tilney).
Hal Catherwood, managing director & head of RBC Brewin Dolphin said: “RBC Brewin Dolphin continues to grow its regional footprint with these new wealth manager hires and well-deserved promotions. Together their strong wealth management experience and dedication to excellent client care will enable us to reach more people across our communities with targeted wealth planning solutions to meet their evolving needs.”
The new appointments follow several wealth manager hires at RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2025, which saw Jack Benton and Gordon Parsons-Wallace join the Glasgow office, Wayne Newlands join the Truro office, Rhiannon Murray and James Stewart-Lockhart join the Edinburgh office and Justine Lobel, Jamie Regan, Aisling Wilson and Rupert Gorman join the London office.
