Supporting clients through vulnerable times

We understand that our clients may need extra support from time to time. A significant life event or a change in health or personal circumstances can impact their ability to make financial decisions or focus on their financial goals, either temporarily or over the longer term.

Significant life events could include:

  • Bereavement
  • Physical or mental health changes
  • Hearing, vision or communication difficulties
  • Divorce, separation or a relationship breakdown
  • Caring responsibilities
  • Redundancy or loss of an income stream
  • Becoming a victim of fraud and financial crime

Letting your usual RBC contact know about changes in your circumstances helps us to tailor the service we provide to you for as long as you need us to. Our colleagues are trained to support clients with compassion and understanding and any information you share with us will be handled confidentially. We will only use this information to provide you with the support you need, and you can ask us to update this at any time.

Please do let us know even if you’re not dealing with a specific life event but would like us to change the way we communicate or present information to you.

Protect yourself against fraud

With advances in technology providing opportunities for fraudsters to carry out criminal activity, we ask that you remain vigilant and protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud.

You can find out more about the different types of fraud and how to protect yourself at Report Fraud (www.reportfraud.police.uk) and the Financial Conduct Authority (www.fca.org.uk/consumers/protect-yourself-scams) websites.

Fraudsters target everyone but those who have previously fallen victim to fraud and anyone experiencing any kind of vulnerability can be particularly susceptible. Please get in touch with your usual RBC contact if you think you have been a victim of fraud so that we can put some additional measures in place to protect your accounts with us.
