LONDON, 2 October 2026 – RBC Wealth Management today announced the appointment of William Hepburne-Scott to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer. In this position, William will lead the execution of the firm’s European Wealth Management commercial strategy, helping drive sustainable organic growth while ensuring the organisation’s commercial activity is closely aligned with its client propositions, regulatory obligations and long-term strategic objectives.

William Hepburne-Scott moves into the Chief Commercial Officer role from his current position as Managing Director, Head of the Southern Region, a role he has held since 2023. He joined the firm’s London office in 1996 as an Investment Manager, developing client relationships, and has spent three decades with the business.

Lucie Gordon, Managing Director for the Northern Region, will retire at the end of December 2026. Lucie joined RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2014 and was appointed Managing Director for the Northern Region in 2023. Throughout her tenure, she has been central to building high-performing teams and delivering strong outcomes for clients across the region.

The creation of the Chief Commercial Officer role comes at an important moment for the business as it continues its growth plans across the UK, Jersey and the Republic of Ireland, and reflects RBC Wealth Management’s commitment to developing the leadership, expertise and talent needed to support the evolving needs of its clients.

As RBC Wealth Management continues to drive growth right across the UK, the Regional Centre Heads – Rod Walley (North), Robin Mellows (Central, the South West and Wales) and Kevin Jennings (London and the South East) – will take on expanded roles as Regional Managing Directors. They will continue to be supported by regional leads and heads of offices across RBC Wealth Management’s network of more than 30 offices, and will report to Nicholas Oliver, Managing Director, Head of RBC Brewin Dolphin.

Hal Catherwood, Managing Director of RBC Wealth Management, said: “William’s appointment is an important step in the continued evolution of our business and a clear signal of our ambition to drive sustainable, organic growth.

The momentum behind our Strategic Hiring Programme also continues to build, with another group of talented advisers choosing to build their careers with RBC Wealth Management. Each of these new colleagues brings deep expertise and a genuine client focus, strengthening our ability to deliver advice-led wealth management. The calibre of candidates we are attracting reflects the strength of our proposition and culture, and the opportunity to be part of an organisation that combines global scale with personalised service.

As Lucie prepares to retire at the end of this year, I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank her for her significant contribution over the past 12 years and wish her well for her retirement.”

The Strategic Hiring Programme is focused on recruiting new client-facing roles and is part of RBC Wealth Management’s growth strategy. Through investing in the right expertise, talent and technology, the firm is supporting the evolving needs of its clients. The programme, which has been running since the beginning of this financial year, plans to hire more than 70 experienced client-facing professionals by the end of 2027. Appointments have been made across a number of offices including London, Bristol and Dublin, with more to be announced in the coming months.
