David Hood

David leads the Central Investment Solutions team, which specialises in model portfolio construction and risk analysis. The team manages the RBC Brewin Dolphin Managed Portfolio Service as well as the Voyager and MI Select Managers funds, working in close collaboration with the research team.  

The multi-asset portfolios for which David’s team is responsible are some of the best performing in their industry peer group and have won awards. An experienced finance and technology professional, David says the team’s aim is simply to maximise Brewin Dolphin clients’ investment returns, according to their appetite for risk. 

Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin as a quantitative analyst in 2009, David co-founded a software firm specialising in real-time multi-dimensional data analysis to aid business and financial decision-making. It was acquired by a large Canadian software company that was in turn acquired by IBM. David is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds certificates in Quantitative Finance and ESG Investment.
