Simon Smales is a Managing Director in the Business Owners and Entrepreneurs team for RBC Private Wealth, part of RBC Wealth Management’s European business.

Based in London, Simon is responsible for leading a Relationship Management team that provides clients with integrated wealth management solutions.

Prior to joining RBC in June 2012, Simon had more than 22 years of banking experience, including various roles for HSBC, within its corporate and personal banking business, and later for HSBC Private Bank.

Simon holds a BA (Hons) in Classics from Oxford University, is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

A keen sportsman, Simon played rugby for many years. Now he has retired from that sport, he enjoys playing golf.
